Dophix Michaelangelo
DESCRIPTION
Michelangelo combines the Dynamism of valve sound with the definition of a pedal effect.
The heart of Michelangelo is made entirely of JFET transistors, which characterize a dynamic and warm sound recreating the effect produced by a Tube (Valve) head.
Thanks to the three position switch it is possible to select three distortion modes with silicon, germanium and JFET semiconductors.
The possibility to choose the type of distortion makes Michelangelo extremely flexible, with distortions that offer the whole range from a boost, to light crunch, to overdrive up to a very defined distortion typical of the one produced by a valve head.
Another great feature of Michelangelo is the presence of a preamplifier and an output boost, both separately controllable and activated through a dedicated “BOOST” footswitch.
In fact, there are two independent true bypass footswitches: DRIVE activate/deactivate the drive effect and BOOST activate/deactivate the preamp, the output boost or both. A second toggle switch allows you to keep the preamp always active or only in correspondence of the BOOST footswitch on.
The preamplifier acts on the amplitude of the input signal to the amplification and distortion section of Michelangelo. The control is made available through the dedicated PRE knob: in this way a further management of the desired sound is obtained by acting exclusively on the preamplifier.
The PRE level control has an excursion from 0 to 15 dB: PRE at minimum therefore has no effect on the input signal, leaving it unaltered, while PRE at maximum brings the input signal to be amplified by 15 dB before being put into entry to the DRIVE section of Michelangelo.
With the PRE switch set to the OFF position, the preamplifier will only be activated when the BOOST foot switch is activated. If the PRE switch is in the ON position, the preamplifier will be active regardless of the on / off status of the BOOST footswitch. The preamplifier left on the ON position allows a very precise control of the saturation and attack level of the DRIVE sound, while the OFF position of the PRE selector allows a “more gain” effect hooked up to the activation of the BOOST footswitch.
The DRIVE section of Michelangelo has four controls available: GAIN2, LEVEL, B and M.
GAIN2 defines the amount of distortion.
LEVEL the output volume of the DRIVE section.
B and M define the equalization of the distortion with the regulation of the band of low frequencies B and high frequencies M.
The SIL / GER / FET selector acts on the DRIVE section of Michelangelo, modifying its distortion mode.
The BOOST knob adjusts the output boost activated after the BOOST foot switch is activated. The BOOST level control has an excursion from 0 to 15 dB: BOOST at minimum has no effect on the output signal leaving it unchanged with respect to the output level produced by the DRIVE, while BOOST at maximum amplified in a linear way of 15 dB the signal of exit.
Finally, the other great feature made available by Michelangelo is the BLEND control, that lets the output signal be a mix of the amount of distorted and clean sound with a complete excursion from completely distorted sound to completely clean sound to a desired mix of two.
The selected components are high quality with integrated circuits and JFET transistors belonging to 70s vintage series.
The compact box allows easy positioning in the pedal board.
External or battery-powered 9V power supply.
LED light on / off status indicator of the DRIVE and BOOST effect in addition to the LED at the base always active.

Dophix Galileo
DESCRIPTION
Galileo is a full analogue optical tremolo with versatile regulations, tap tempo and modulation controls. The heart of Galileo is an internal analogue oscillator that controls an high quality photodiode producing the tremolo: the activation and de-activation of this match let Galileo’s tremolo effect be very natural without distortion of the input signal.
Footswitches:
Galileo is provided with two true-bypass footswitches: GO and TAP.
With GO footswitch Galileo activate the tremolo effect and the output signal is modulated by the photodiode and the oscillator. When GO is on, a blue led lights on as a feedback. When GO footswitch is OFF the input is bypassed, so that the input signal is directly connected with the output jack.
With TAP footswitch it is possible to set the tremolo oscillator period as desidered by pressing TAP. Each TAP trigger set the start/stop of the oscillator period. A minimum of two tap triggers are required in order to set the desidered TAP period. No upper TAP triggers limits have to be respected. NOTE: the max oscillator period is 1 second: in case a longer TAP is requested the internal circuit will limit the TAP period to 1 sec.
Knobs:
Galileo is provided with five knobs that let you fully control the analogue oscillator and the tremolo effect as desidered.
SPEED: on manual mode (with SPEED MOD selector on central position) SPEED knob let you manually set the tremolo speed as desidered. NOTE: the max tremolo speed is 1Hertz (1 second period). If TAP speed is active, by manually control SPEED knob the oscillatori s immediatly controlled in manual mode, with speed set by the SPEED knob.
DEPTH: controls the amount of tremolo effect added to the input signal. With DEPTH set to min the input signal has no tremolo effect. With DEPTH set to max the tremolo effect if full and when the tremolo photodiode is off no signal will be to the output. In mid positions of DEPTH it is possible to adjust the mix of the input signal with the full tremolo modulation.
SMOOTH: sets how strong is the impact of the analogue oscillator into the photodiode conduction, responsable of the tremolo effect.
ATTACK: set the attach of the tremolo compared to the oscillator settings. ATTACK let you set when the photodiode will be activated concerning the oscillator signal amplitude.
SYM: the photodiode is turned on/ off when the oscillaotor sinusoidal signal is at the peak / bottom of the amplitude. SYM sets the relation between the oscillator waveform and the photodiode conduction by modifying the peak/bottom position of the oscillator.
LED status:
Galileo pedal is provided with a dedicated led status indication that let the user understand the pedal status. Galileo comes with two leds on top of the footswitches GO and TAP.
GO LED is blue and has two possible states:
OFF: the Galileo pedal is OFF and the input signal is bypassed to the output
ON: the Galileo pedal is active and the output signal is modulated by Galileo’s tremolo oscillator-photodiode
TAP LED has four possible states. It always blinks at the current oscillator speed, no matter what the GO footswtich is ON or OFF. This let you be always able to monitor the oscillator speed, even when the GO footswitch is OFF and Galileo is in bypass mode. The TAP led blinks on the following four LED status:
BLU: the tremolo oscillator is running on MANUAL mode: the oscillator speed has not been set by TAP tempo and the speed has been manually set from SPEED knob (this is the default condition at power-on)
RED: the analogue oscillator’s circuit is attaching to the TAP tempo. When a TAP tempo is inserted with the footswitch, the oscillator needs to analogically match the oscillaotor speed to the new TAP speed: during the attach time the LED blinks red.
GREEN: when oscillator speed is perfectly matched to the new TAP speed the TAP LED blinks GREEN. On this status you can always check the oscillaor speed and the TAP status, no matter the GO footswitch state is OFF or ON.
GREEN+RED: Galileo is performing a SPEED MODULATION (details described on next “Selectors” section)
Dophix Medici

multitude of combinations and mix it with the input signal.
Medici has a FUZZ stage, a MORE FUZZ stage and a mixer that you can activate independently.
Medici has a FUZZ stage, a MORE FUZZ stage and a mixer that you can activate independently.
The Medici fuzz stage provides standard level, tone and gain controls. The output fuzz level is set with the MASTER knob.
FUZZ knob sets the fuzz stage gain and TONE knob models the fuzz frequency response shape.
Medici also have a MORE FUZZ stage that adds to the fuzz stage a tone shaped preamplifier so that the input of the fuzz is boosted, resulting on a high gain fuzz.
The MORE FUZZ preamplifier can be activated either by itself or as a combination of the fuzz stage by turning on both FUZZ ME ON and MORE FUZZ foot-switches.
Acting on the MORE LEVEL knob the volume of the preamplifier is adjusted and the MORE FUZZ knob sets the gain of the preamplification.
Finally the BLEND regulation is the control of the mixer of the fuzz stage with the input jack signal. BLEND let you linearly control the quantity of Medici fuzz effect with the input signal by combining it.
